Zero — Dachshund Studio Portrait at Bentwaters
Zero came in for a studio portrait session at my Bentwaters studio. A dachshund with an alert, attentive character — the kind of dog who misses nothing and keeps those long ears working constantly.
The Session
Zero was excellent in the studio from the start. Alert dogs make good portrait subjects because they’re naturally engaged with their surroundings, which means you get real expressions rather than a glazed look. The challenge is keeping that attention focused where you need it, but Zero was cooperative throughout.
The session covered a good range of setups — working with the studio lighting and the natural light to find what suited Zero best. Darker coats need careful handling with light direction, and we took time to get that right.
The Portraits
The finished portraits show Zero at his best — sharp eyes, good posture, and the kind of expression that makes a portrait worth displaying. A strong set of images from the session.
