Bean and Bagel — Dachshund Studio Portraits at Bentwaters
Bean and Bagel came in for a studio portrait session at my Bentwaters studio. Two dachshunds with names that suit them — they were a good-natured pair who made the session enjoyable from start to finish.
Photographing Two Dogs Together
Multi-dog sessions take a little longer to manage, but they’re worth it. The dynamic between two dogs who know each other well comes through in the portraits in a way you simply can’t manufacture. You can see it in the way they sit near each other, the way one will occasionally glance across at the other.
We worked through individual shots first, then some portraits with both dogs together. Getting two dogs to cooperate at the same time takes patience, but these two were reasonably obliging.
The Portraits
The images from the session came out well. Both dogs are clearly themselves in the portraits — good expression, sharp eyes, the kind of result that makes the effort worthwhile.
