Milo — Dachshund Studio Portrait Session at Bentwaters

Milo came in for a studio portrait session at my Bentwaters studio. He’s a dachshund with a relaxed approach to most things, which made for a straightforward and enjoyable session.

The Session

Milo settled into the studio quickly. He had a good look around, took a few treats, and was ready to work within a few minutes of arriving. Dogs that come in calm tend to stay calm, and that composure showed in the portraits.

We worked through a few different setups over the course of the session. The aim with any dog portrait is to get a clear, well-lit image that captures the dog’s character — not a forced pose, but something that looks like them on a good day.

The Portraits

The images from Milo’s session came out well. There’s a good range of head shots and fuller body portraits, and the expression in the best of them is exactly what you want — alert, present, natural.
